I joined the Navy right out of high school in November of 1985 from Fort Myers, FL.

Went to boot camp and MM "A" School in Waukegan, IL until April, 1986.

Worked at Gate Force Security at the Orlando Naval Training Center in Orlando, FL waiting to "class up" with class 8607.

Got "rolled back" into Class 8701.  Graduated in April 1987.

Went to Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit in Ballston Spa, NY.

"Smurfed" at S7G (MARF) for 6 weeks waiting for class to form.

Ended up going to S3G for class, and having a lot of lunches at the D1G ball.

Plant was shut down, they kept delaying graduating our class until we graduated with 8703.

Got picked up for ELT school and completed that at S3G as well.  Graduated May 1988.

Reported to USS Albany (SSN-753), under construction submarine in Newport News, VA.

"Pushed the button" (re-enlisted) and was promoted to MM2.

Qualified LELT, SS and made MM1(SS) while onboard the USS Albany.  Just needed RO Shut Down and EWO Start Up for EWS.

Left the USS Albany in February 1992.  Received orders to R-5 in Pearl Harbor, HI.

Did 6 week Rad-Con School in Charleston, SC.

Worked at R-5 Pearl Harbor for about 3 1/2 years.  Qualified RCSS.

During R-5 assignment I was injured in a Military Approved Sporting Event.
(Blew out my knee practicing for the Hawaii State Roller Hockey Championships)

Had arthroscopic knee surgery.  Doctor said it was too damaged to repair.

Discharged August 1995 as a 10% Disabled Veteran.  Almost half way to retirement.

Still can't run and I have trouble carrying things down stairs.
